Surveyor Foreman

About this role

Hands-on Surveyor Foreman needed to lead field surveying operations on construction projects nationwide. This is a working lead role — you’ll be in the field running layouts, taking measurements, verifying work, and supervising a small crew of 2–4 technicians. You must be comfortable with total stations and GNSS/RTK, reading civil drawings and blueprints, and delivering accurate, quality survey data under jobsite conditions. Travel and occasional overtime are part of the job; good communication with project management and site crews is essential.

What you'll do

• • Lead and coordinate daily survey field activities and crew assignments
• • Perform layout, staking, measurements, and on-site verification
• • Check field data for accuracy, produce clear as-built notes and survey records
• • Operate and maintain survey equipment (total station, GPS/RTK, levels); perform basic calibration
• • Communicate progress and issues to project management and site crews; enforce safe work practices

What we're looking for

• • Hands-on experience in land surveying and site layout on civil construction projects
• • Able to read and interpret civil drawings, technical drawings, and blueprints
• • Proficient operating total station, GNSS/RTK, levels and field data collectors
• • Proven crew leadership on site with strong practical problem-solving skills
• • Physically fit for field work, comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather

Qualifications

• • Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) preferred
• • Proficiency with AutoCAD / Civil 3D or similar CAD software
• • Experience with total station, GNSS/RTK systems and field data collectors
• • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• • OSHA-10 (preferred) and First Aid/CPR a plus
