About This Role

Join our crew as a Surveyor Party Chief or Surveyor Journeyman working on industrial and heavy industrial construction projects across the country. You’ll run Trimble/GPS equipment, perform site layout and control work, and deliver accurate field measurements that crews rely on. We need hands-on field people with 3+ years’ experience who can work independently on complex jobs and also communicate with foremen, engineers and other trades. Travel to project sites nationwide — steady, project-based work with opportunities for overtime and advancement.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate Trimble total stations, GPS receivers and data collectors for control, stakeout and as-built surveys
  • Perform site layout, stake elevations, alignments and offsets from civil drawings and project plans
  • Establish, verify and maintain survey control networks and benchmarks
  • Collect, record and deliver accurate field data; process and check field notes and digital files
  • Coordinate with project superintendents, foremen and other trades to sequence layout work
  • Maintain survey equipment, perform daily checks and ensure proper calibration and care

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of field surveying experience, preferably in industrial or heavy industrial construction
  • Proficient with Trimble equipment and GPS workflows (total stations, RTK, data collectors)
  • Able to read and interpret civil drawings, technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail and proven accuracy in field measurements
  • Comfortable working independently on site and as part of a survey crew
  • Willingness to travel to job sites nationwide and work outdoors in varied conditions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to sites
  • Certification preferred: LSIT, PLS or equivalent (preferred but not required)
  • First Aid/CPR and OSHA 10 or 30 considered a plus
  • Able to pass drug screen and background check when required
  • Strong map/drawing reading skills and experience with data processing software

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay with overtime opportunities
  • Travel pay or per diem for out-of-town assignments
  • Company-provided survey equipment, tools and PPE
  • Consistent, project-based work across industrial sites nationwide
  • Opportunities for skills training and advancement into lead roles
