Truck Driver (Lowbed/Lowboy)

About This Role

Seeking an experienced Lowbed/Lowboy Truck Driver to haul construction equipment to and from job sites in and around Worcester, PA. You will operate lowbed/lowboy trailers, handle loading and securement of heavy machinery, and work directly with site supervisors to meet delivery schedules. This is hands-on work on construction sites — you must be comfortable around heavy equipment, follow DOT and site safety rules, and keep accurate vehicle and transport records. CDL-A and proven lowbed experience required.

What You'll Do

  • Operate lowbed/lowboy trucks and trailers to transport construction equipment safely to job sites
  • Load, secure, and unload heavy machinery using chains, binders, ramps, and forklifts as needed
  • Inspect vehicle, trailer, tie-downs, and equipment before and after each run; complete DOT and company logs
  • Coordinate deliveries with site supervisors and flaggers; follow site layout and traffic control directions
  • Comply with DOT, state, and site safety regulations; use correct load securement and weight distribution
  • Perform basic on-site troubleshooting and roadside repairs; report mechanical issues promptly

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience operating lowbed/lowboy or flatbed trailers moving construction equipment
  • Skilled at loading, securing, binding, and unloading heavy machinery and attachments
  • Working knowledge of general heavy equipment maintenance and diesel engine basics
  • Experience with traffic control/flagging and working safely on active construction sites
  • Forklift operation and familiarity with site layout and civil construction work

Qualifications

  • CDL-A (required)
  • Valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate (medical card)
  • Clean driving record with ability to pass MVR and background check
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
  • Forklift certification and HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not required
