CDL B Dump Truck Driver

About This Role

Join a heavy civil construction crew in Richmond, VA as a CDL B Dump Truck Driver. You’ll support site work, grading, mass excavation, mainline pipe installation, processed water projects, milling, and paving operations by hauling dirt, stone, asphalt and milling debris between job sites. We need reliable drivers with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. You’ll perform daily truck inspections, load and unload materials to legal weight limits, follow assigned haul routes, keep accurate delivery logs, and communicate with supervisors and equipment operators. Steady local and regional work with opportunities for overtime.

What You'll Do

• • Safely operate CDL B dump trucks to haul dirt, stone, asphalt and milling debris between sites.
• • Support grading, excavation, pipe installation, processed water, milling and paving crews by timely hauling of materials.
• • Load and unload materials, maintain proper weight distribution and ensure compliance with legal load limits.
• • Follow assigned haul routes and traffic laws; adhere to company safety policies and DOT regulations.
• • Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic preventative maintenance; report mechanical issues promptly.
• • Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records and communicate status with site supervisors and equipment operators.

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 2 years safe dump truck driving experience in heavy civil or construction hauling.
• • Valid CDL B with clean driving record and strong hands-on dump truck operation skills.
• • Able to load/unload materials safely and manage time and materials for efficient hauling.
• • Clear verbal and written communication with supervisors, crew and equipment operators.
• • Knowledge of site clean-up procedures and basic construction site safety practices.
• • Willingness to follow haul routes, DOT rules, and company safety policies at all times.

Qualifications

• • Valid CDL B (required)
• • Current DOT medical card (must meet DOT standards)
• • Minimum 2 years documented dump truck driving experience
• • Clean motor vehicle record with no recent preventable accidents
• • Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol screening and background check
• • Basic reading and verbal English for jobsite communication
