Waterproofing Carpenter/Foreman
About This Role
Experienced waterproofing carpenter/foreman needed in Fort Lauderdale to lead self-perform Division 7 work on commercial projects. This is a hands-on role: you will perform and oversee air barriers, joint sealants, below-grade and under-slab systems, hot-applied membranes, firestopping, expansion joints and floor polishing while keeping work safe, on schedule and within cost. You’ll lead small crews, coordinate with subcontractors and trades, track work in project/accounting/scheduling software, and keep quality and safety standards high. This job is physical—expect outdoor work in heat/cold, work at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing full PPE.
What You'll Do
- • Install and inspect air barriers, joint sealants, caulking, and expansion joint systems on commercial projects
- • Perform below-grade, under-slab, and hot-applied waterproofing and floor polishing tasks as required
- • Execute firestopping work to code and inspect penetrations and assemblies for compliance
- • Lead and train crew members, assign daily tasks, enforce safety and quality standards
- • Track labor, material use and costs in project/accounting/scheduling software and report progress
- • Coordinate with subcontractors, superintendents and site teams to keep schedule on track
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 3–5 years commercial waterproofing and moisture/fire protection experience
- • Hands-on experience with air barriers, joint sealants, below-grade, under-slab and hot-applied systems
- • Strong communication and crew leadership skills; able to read drawings and resolve field issues
- • Proficient with Microsoft Office and experience using project, scheduling or cost-management software
- • Able to work at heights, in hot/cold conditions, lift up to 50 lbs and wear required PPE
- • Reliable, punctual, able to manage multiple tasks and maintain consistent quality under deadlines
Qualifications
- • OSHA-10 (required) or OSHA-30 preferred
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Fort Lauderdale job sites
- • Proven crew leadership or foreman experience on commercial projects
- • Familiarity with local building codes and firestopping standards
- • Ability to pass background check and drug screen (where required)
