Responsibilities

Surface preparation for painting including removing old paint, cleaning, scraping, sanding and filling holes.
Applying paint, stain and other finishes with brushes, rollers, spray guns and other painting equipment.
Matching color and making custom colors as required.
Smooth and even application of paint to achieve specified finishes. Create decorative finishes with brushes or trowels for unique textures.
Working with different types of surfaces and paints – latex, oil-based, epoxy, etc.
Covering surfaces with plastic or cloth to ensure protection.
Setting up scaffolding and other equipment needed to work in high places on site.
Calculate materials needed for the job and place orders accordingly.
Cleaning and properly maintaining painting equipment.
Cleaning work area and removing hazardous materials.

Oversee and direct painting jobs from start to completion for productivity and quality.
Track projects to maintain deadlines, budgets and labor schedules.
Ensure that tools, materials and equipment are available when needed and maintained properly.
Communicate effectively with crew members and the management.
Ensure highest level of safety, quality and professionalism on job site.
Coordinate with project managers, client and other trade workers to ensure goals are aligned.
Train painters for improvement of skill and performance.
Qualifications

All Skill Levels:
If you are a detail-oriented person with a passion for painting and renovating spaces, we encourage you to apply for beginner, professional and construction painter jobs through us.
Knowledge of basic painting techniques and surface preparation.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely.
Valid and current drivers license to commute to and from the job site.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Comfortable working at different heights and in small or crammed spaces.
Good vision for colour and attention to detail.
Familiarity with safe handling of materials and job site safety practices.
Physical ability to lift/transfer heavy materials needed for the job.
Must own a vehicle.
Professional Painter:
Proven experience in different types of painter jobs.
Detailed knowledge of paint types and techniques of application and texture.
Has very good attention to detail.
Construction Painter:
Proven experience in large scale construction painter jobs, working with a variety of paint techniques and types of projects.
Highly skilled in surface preparation and painting and project management.
Familiarity with building codes and safety codes.
Certifications & Trainings (Preferred):
OSHA 10 certification
Scaffolding and aerial lift training
Manufacturer certifications for particular paint products/equipment
Leadership training
