Job Description

Benefits: Most professional and construction welder job positions include paid time off, medical and retirement benefits. Specific benefits will be established by the hiring company.

Responsibilities

    • Reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings and welding specifications to identify project needs. 

    • Setting up and using welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, stick and flux-core welders. 

    • Cutting, shaping and assembling metal parts with manual and automated tools/equipment. 

    • Performing structural and pipe welding for commercial, industrial and construction projects using gas and electric welding equipment.

    • Performing quality control checks using tools such as micrometers, calipers and tape measure to determine whether welds meet industry standards and safety regulations. 

    • Repairing damaged metal structures and parts as needed. 

    • Grind down welds using a grinder or sander.

    • Coordinating with engineers, fabricators and other trade workers on welder jobs site for timely project completion. 

    • Keeping welding equipment and tools in working order. 

    • Adhering to safety protocols which include wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper ventilation.

    • Will be required to lift up to 35 lbs.

Qualifications

For Professional and Construction Welder Positions:

  • Proven experience in welding, metal fabrication or related construction welder roles. The more experience, the higher the demand.

  • Proficient in one or more welding processes (MIG, TIG, stick, flux-core, etc.). 

  • Able to read and interpret engineering prints, schematics, and weld symbols as well as using basic tools such as tape measure.

  • Knowledge of different metals, alloys and welding properties. 

  • Strong attention to detail to provide high-quality welds to specifications. 

  • Physical ability to maneuver heavy materials, work in confined areas and be on one’s feet for long periods of time. 

  • Welding certification (AWS, ASME, or other industry-recognized certification) is a plus for construction welder jobs. 

  • Strong commitment to workplace safety. Having an OSHA certificate or any other construction safety trainings is a plus.

Work Schedule

  • Full time with potential for overtime

  • Monday to Friday with flexibility for project needs

  • Weekend overtime available
