As a solar installer, you will be responsible for installing commercial solar systems on rooftops and other structures.
Location: Multiple cities across US

Responsibilities

Work with on-site crew to safely and effectively install commercial solar systems as per design requirements and safety regulations.
Ensure personal, crew and job site safety always; identify and report possible hazards.
Attend safety and technical training sessions, such as information on solar technology, installation practices and equipment handling.
Inspect inventory at the loading dock to verify whether assigned crew vehicle is fully loaded with all tools, equipment and solar modules needed for the solar installer job.
Layout and assembly of solar panels, racking, electrical equipment, mechanical and structural mounts according to project plans.
Apply proper weather sealing on the roof and mounting structures to avoid leaks and long-term durability issues.
Transport and load materials to the solar panel installation job site safely (up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs with help).
Balance and maintain safety while working at heights on sloped or multi-angled rooftops.
Clean-up after every installation, keeping the client site and crew vehicle neat and professional.
Utilize proper fall protection and personal protective equipment (PPE) during every stage of the job.
Follow instructions and directions when working on roofs and in outdoor settings, occasionally in harsh weather.
Qualifications
For Construction Pipelayer Positions:
The ideal candidate for solar technician jobs or commercial solar panel installer jobs should have the following skills and experience. The more experience, the higher the demand.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights with balance and accuracy.
Comfortable working on rooftops with multiple angles and surfaces (bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting necessary).
Able to work in outdoor weather conditions, including - excessive heat or cold, high humidity, wet or windy conditions and high noise levels.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs on a regular basis and 100 lbs with the help of the crew/team.
Must be able to differentiate colors (red, black, yellow, white, green) of electrical wiring.
Ability to work in tight spaces such as attics, crawl spaces and basements.
Proficiency with hand tools and fine motor capabilities for grasping, pinching and working with hardware.
Ability to listen clearly to verbal directions and warnings.
Capable of working with chemicals with proper use of PPE.
Must adhere to company safety policies and work positively towards a safe culture at the workplace.
Must be respectful and professional when interacting with co-workers and clients.
Show strong teamwork and capability of contributing to high-pressure environments.
Meet project deadlines with responsibility and reliability.
