Building Services Technician (Carpenter)

Fort Worth, TX

About This Role

Join our Fort Worth team as a Building Services Technician and put your commercial carpentry skills to work on specialized facility projects. You’ll handle rough and finish carpentry, painting, basic concrete repairs, and general facility maintenance for commercial sites. This role is hands-on, client-facing, and requires someone who can work independently, manage materials and budgets, and keep jobs safe and on schedule. This job fits experienced carpenters who are self-motivated, safety-first, and comfortable diagnosing problems, sourcing materials, and communicating with clients and supervisors. Expect varied environments, physical work, and steady commercial projects in the Fort Worth area.

What You'll Do

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry: framing, trim, door and hardware installation, cabinetry and staircase work on commercial sites.
  • Complete painting, basic concrete repair, leveling, and surface prep as needed for project scope.
  • Diagnose facility issues, produce estimates, source and order materials, and track costs to meet budget targets.
  • Follow OSHA and site safety protocols, use PPE, maintain clean and hazard-free work areas, and perform site clean-up.
  • Communicate directly with clients, supervisors, and subcontractors to coordinate work, set expectations, and report progress.
  • Organize daily tasks, manage time to meet deadlines, document completed work, and work independently with minimal supervision.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5+ years commercial carpentry or facilities maintenance experience (finish and rough carpentry).
  • Proven ability to read plans, measure and layout, and perform accurate cuts and installations.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools, saws, levels, drills, and basic concrete tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: diagnose issues, create cost-effective repair plans, and coordinate vendors for materials.
  • Must be safety conscious and follow OSHA/site safety rules; able to wear required PPE and work in varied environments.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to work flexible hours and overtime when project demands require.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30 preferred) and strong knowledge of OSHA safety protocols.
  • 3-5+ years commercial carpentry/facilities maintenance experience.
  • Valid driver’s license; clean driving record preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; basic computer/tablet skills for scheduling and documentation.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly pay plus overtime opportunities and steady commercial work.
  • Health, dental, and vision options (where available) and paid time off or PTO program.
  • Tool allowance or reimbursement and company-provided PPE/uniforms as required.
  • Mileage reimbursement or company vehicle availability for job travel (policy dependent).
  • Opportunities for skill development, training, and advancement on commercial projects.
