Carpenter — Building Services Technician (Houston, TX)
About This Role
Join our crew in Houston as a Carpenter serving as a Building Services Technician. You’ll handle facility maintenance, repairs, and minor commercial construction work on specialized projects. This role fits a hands-on carpenter who works independently, follows safety rules, and keeps client communication clear and professional. Daily work includes rough and finish carpentry, painting, basic concrete repairs, diagnosing facility issues, sourcing materials and managing small budgets. We expect team members to be self-motivated, safety-focused, organized, and able to meet project deadlines in varied jobsite conditions.
What You'll Do
- • Perform rough and finish carpentry: framing, trim, door and hardware installation, cabinet and panel work, and general framing tasks.
- • Complete painting, surface prep and basic concrete repair work (patching, form work, leveling).
- • Diagnose facility issues, make repairs, produce accurate material lists, and source supplies while tracking costs to stay on budget.
- • Follow OSHA and jobsite safety protocols, use required PPE, keep work areas clean and hazard-free, and complete basic safety paperwork.
- • Communicate directly with clients, supervisors and teammates to schedule work, set expectations, and report progress or issues.
- • Plan daily tasks, manage time to meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision on multiple small projects.
What We're Looking For
- • 3–5+ years commercial carpentry and/or facilities maintenance experience.
- • Skilled in rough and finish carpentry, trim, door/hardware and basic concrete work; able to read drawings and measure accurately.
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; able to travel to job sites across the Houston area.
- • Comfortable with physical work: lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working on scaffolds, and standing for long periods.
- • Basic computer/tablet skills for schedules, email and digital work orders; able to use phone apps for photos and reports.
- • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; strong verbal communication with clients and crew.
Qualifications
- • 3–5+ years commercial carpentry or facilities maintenance.
- • High school diploma or GED preferred.
- • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- • OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30) preferred.
- • Bilingual: English and Spanish preferred.
- • Comfortable using tablet/phone apps for schedules, photos and digital paperwork.
