Carpenter - Building Services Technician

About This Role

Join a hands-on building services crew in Houston, TX performing facility maintenance, repairs, and minor commercial construction. This role is for experienced carpenters who can run jobs independently, follow safety rules, and work directly with clients on specialized projects. You’ll do rough and finish carpentry, painting, and basic concrete work while diagnosing and fixing facility issues, sourcing materials, and managing small budgets. Pay range is $23–$35/hr depending on experience; schedule will align with project needs and may require flexible hours.

What You'll Do

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks: framing, trim, door/hardware installation, cabinetry, and staircase work
  • Complete painting, surface prep and basic concrete repair/patching on commercial job sites
  • Diagnose facility issues, estimate material needs, order supplies, and track job costs
  • Follow OSHA/site safety protocols, use PPE, and keep work areas clean and hazard-free
  • Communicate with clients, supervisors, and team members to coordinate work and report progress
  • Organize daily tasks, meet deadlines, document work, and close out small projects with minimal supervision

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5+ years commercial carpentry or facilities maintenance experience (rough & finish carpentry)
  • Skilled with hand and power tools, measuring/cutting, reading basic drawings and blueprints
  • Experience with painting, patching, and concrete repair/formwork
  • Strong safety record and ability to follow OSHA job site protocols (OSHA 10 required)
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb ladders/scaffolds, and work in varied weather and confined spaces

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 certification (required)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
