Formwork Carpenter

Cartersville, GA $22-$28/hr

About this role

We are hiring a hands-on formwork carpenter in Cartersville, GA to build and set rough wooden structures for concrete. You will construct vertical and horizontal forms, gang forms, blocking, clamp-style form systems and related scaffolding, then verify everything is square and secure before concrete placement. This is physical, site-based work. You’ll read drawings, lay out form locations, measure and cut materials to spec, and work with the crew and concrete team to prepare for pours. Safety, accuracy, and teamwork are essential — site-specific training and safety briefings will be provided.

What you'll do

  • Build, set and strip vertical and horizontal concrete forms, gang forms, blocking and clamp-style form systems
  • Install and work from scaffolds associated with formwork; follow scaffold safety procedures
  • Interpret blueprints, shop drawings and specs to determine layout and form design
  • Measure, mark, cut and assemble form materials to project tolerances
  • Check forms for level, plumb, alignment and structural integrity prior to concrete placement
  • Coordinate with concrete crews during pours and perform touch-ups or bracing as needed

What we're looking for

  • Proven rough carpentry experience with concrete formwork and form ties
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layout plans and project specs
  • Skill in measuring, cutting and assembling lumber and panel systems to tight tolerances
  • Experience installing and using scaffolding systems safely
  • Physically able to lift, carry and work at heights for full shifts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to jobsite safety

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour construction safety card preferred
  • Scaffold user training or certification preferred
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification a plus
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to site
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
