Carpenter (Concrete Formwork)

About this role

We are hiring 5 Carpenters in Newberry, FL to support commercial concrete work under a foreman or lead. This hands-on role focuses on building, erecting, stripping and repairing formwork and related structures using hand and power tools, following construction documents and site layout. Typical work includes footing forms, wall and column forms, structural deck forms, slab-on-grade setups and prep for tilt-up/precast. If you have grit, steady attendance and at least 2 years of related carpentry or concrete formwork experience, you’ll find consistent projects, on-the-job training and opportunities to advance. Nearest major market: Gainesville, FL.

What you'll do

• • Install footing forms and set forms for slab-on-grade pours
• • Build and install wall, column and structural deck form systems
• • Prep and set tilt-up and precast forms; assist with placement and bracing
• • Read layout, transfer dimensions and work with foreman on building layout
• • Strip and repair formwork; perform blocking, shoring and bracing as required
• • Follow site safety rules, maintain clean work areas and participate in training

What we're looking for

• • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years' related carpentry or concrete formwork experience
• • Ability to read basic construction drawings and perform site layout tasks
• • Skilled with hand and power tools, measuring and cutting materials, and general framing carpentry
• • Experience with concrete formwork components (wall/column forms, deck forms, slab forms) and working around rebar/placement
• • Physically able to perform manual labor outdoors, lift and carry materials, and work at heights when required

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED
• • 2+ years of concrete formwork or related carpentry experience
• • Comfortable reading construction drawings and performing layout
• • Able to pass site safety training and any required certifications (site-specific training)
• • Proficient in English for safety and crew communication; bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
