Carpenter — Concrete Formwork
About this role
Join a concrete crew in Jacksonville, FL as a Carpenter working under a foreman or lead to build, set and strip concrete formwork. This role focuses on footing, wall, column, deck and slab-on-grade form installation, plus tilt-up/precast form prep and structural carpentry. You’ll work from construction documents and layout instructions, use hand and power tools, and support safe, productive jobsite operations. The position offers steady on-site work, site safety training, and opportunities to advance with hands-on experience.
What you'll do
- • Build, set, brace and strip footing, wall, column, deck and slab-on-grade forms, including tilt-up/precast form work
- • Construct, erect, repair and strip wood, plywood and steel form structures using hand and power tools
- • Read and work from construction documents, drawings and site layout to ensure accurate form placement
- • Prepare form surfaces, install anchors/ties, and assist with concrete placement support as directed
- • Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe work area; follow site safety rules and directions from the foreman/lead
- • Attend required site training and certifications; report hazards and participate in safety meetings
What we're looking for
- • High school diploma or GED
- • Minimum 2 years of related carpentry or concrete formwork experience
- • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and perform basic site layout
- • Comfortable using carpentry hand and power tools and performing physical labor in outdoor conditions
- • Reliable attendance, ability to work on-site in Jacksonville, FL and follow direction from a foreman/lead
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • 2+ years concrete formwork or general carpentry experience
- • Proven ability to read blueprints, technical drawings and perform site layout
- • Competent with carpenter hand and power tools and basic formwork hardware
- • Willingness to complete site safety training (able to obtain OSHA 10 or equivalent)
- • Basic English proficiency for reading plans and safety communications
