Doors, Frames & Hardware Installer / Carpenter
About This Role
Hands-on Carpenter needed in Morrisville, NC to install commercial doors, frames and hardware. This is a full-time role (40 hrs/week) focused on quality workmanship across multiple job sites. You’ll hang prefinished doors, install locks and hinges, perform basic welding and frame prep, and protect finished surfaces. You’ll work from shop and on-site, create daily Pre-Task Plans, read plans and manufacturer literature, and manage workflow to meet project schedules. We’re looking for a self-motivated installer with commercial door experience who takes pride in a clean, professional installation.
What You'll Do
- • Install basic to intermediate commercial doors, frames and hardware (locks, hinges, closers, stops) to manufacturer and plan specs
- • Read and interpret plans, templates, diagrams and manufacturer literature for correct installation sequencing
- • Perform basic welding and prep on metal door frames and make field adjustments as needed
- • Handle and hang prefinished doors; patch dents/dings with Bondo and protect finished surfaces during transit/installation
- • Create daily Pre-Task Plans, manage workflow between shop and multiple job sites, and maintain tools/equipment
- • Travel to multiple job sites in a day as needed and perform site clean-up after installations
What We're Looking For
- • 3–5 years commercial door/frame/hardware installation experience preferred
- • Able to read drawings, templates, plans and manufacturer instructions accurately
- • Proficient with hand tools, battery-powered drills and basic welding equipment; able to perform frame prep and minor metal work
- • Experience handling prefinished doors, proper fastening techniques and protecting finished surfaces
- • Self-motivated, team-oriented, able to manage sequencing and workflow in the shop and field
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between Morrisville-area job sites; able to lift and carry heavy doors and hardware
Qualifications
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- • Basic welding skills or welding certification preferred
- • OSHA-10 (preferred) or similar safety training
- • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- • Ability to communicate in English for safety and job coordination
