Building Services Technician (Carpenter) — Corpus Christi, TX

Corpus Christi, TX

About This Role

Join a hands-on team in Corpus Christi as a Building Services Technician. You’ll perform commercial facility maintenance, repairs, and minor construction—using your rough and finish carpentry skills on specialized projects. This role suits a self-motivated carpenter who works clean, follows safety rules, and communicates well with clients and crew. You’ll travel to local commercial sites, diagnose problems, source materials, and complete jobs on schedule with minimal supervision. If you take pride in quality carpentry, safety, and meeting deadlines, this job offers steady, on-site work and opportunities to expand your skills.

What You'll Do

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry: framing, trim, door/hardware and cabinet installation, plus basic concrete repairs and painting.
  • Diagnose facility issues, create cost-effective repair plans, estimate materials, and coordinate purchases with vendors to stay on budget.
  • Follow OSHA and site safety protocols, use required PPE, keep work areas clean, and perform routine site hazard checks.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, and team members about scope, timelines, and job progress.
  • Organize daily tasks, track materials and time, meet project deadlines, and complete work to commercial standards with minimal supervision.
  • Load/unload materials, operate hand and power tools safely, climb ladders/scaffolds, and perform physical tasks in varied environments.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years commercial carpentry or facilities maintenance experience (rough and finish carpentry).
  • Working knowledge of building codes, ADA standards, and commercial-grade materials.
  • Comfortable with physical demands: lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, working on scaffolds, and standing for long periods.
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems, estimate materials, source vendors, and complete repairs on budget and on time.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; available for flexible hours as project needs require.

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (preferred or willing to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Proficient using tablets/scheduling software, email, and digital work orders

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay plus overtime opportunities and consistent, local commercial work.
  • Health insurance options and paid time off (details provided at interview).
  • Company-paid PPE and safety training; paid OSHA refresher courses as required.
  • Mileage reimbursement or company vehicle for site travel (position-dependent).
  • Weekly or biweekly pay and direct-deposit payroll; steady projects in the Corpus Christi/Harlingen area.
  • Hands-on training and opportunities to grow skills in commercial carpentry and facilities maintenance.
