Rub/Patch Cement Finisher

About this role

Work as a Rub/Patch Cement Finisher on concrete projects in Arlington, VA. You’ll perform placement, finishing, curing, cutting, and patch work under the direction of a finisher foreman or lead. This is steady, hands-on field work on commercial and civil jobs with regular schedules and clear advancement paths. You’ll join a crew that values safety and quality. What you'll do

• • Perform concrete placement and rub/patch finishing: hand finishing, troweling, floating, edging, and texturing as directed by the finisher foreman/lead.
• • Prepare and protect concrete: set forms, apply curing methods, protect work from weather, and perform finishing sequence to meet specs.
• • Cut and joint concrete as required: saw cutting, jointing, and patch repairs to control cracking and produce a quality end product.
• • Operate and maintain finishing tools and equipment safely: hand tools, power trowels, concrete saws, mixers, and pumps.
• • Keep work area safe and productive: follow site safety rules, maintain cleanliness, assist crew members, and participate in site-specific training and certifications.

What we're looking for

• • High school diploma or equivalent plus at least 2 years of related concrete finishing or patching experience.
• • Proven ability with rub/patch techniques, concrete finishing, curing, and cutting operations.
• • Able to read and interpret basic drawings and layout instructions, and follow finishing sequence and material selections.
• • Comfortable using hand and power tools safely (trowels, floats, saws, mixers) and performing physical labor outdoors in varying conditions.
• • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work as part of a crew; willingness to complete site-specific training and certifications.

Qualifications

• • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• • Minimum 2 years’ experience in concrete finishing, rub/patch, or related trade.
• • Ability to read basic construction drawings and follow verbal instructions from foreman/lead.
• • Comfortable with physical demands: lifting, carrying, kneeling, standing for long periods, and working outdoors.
• • Willingness to complete site-specific safety training and certifications (OSHA 10 or similar preferred).
