Journeyman Concrete Worker

About this role

Join a hands-on concrete crew in Fort Lauderdale performing structural concrete work on slabs, walls and other components. This role focuses on accurate placement, quality finishing, and safe, timely execution of pours. You should have 2–4 years of concrete construction experience and be comfortable preparing formwork and reinforcement, coordinating pours with other trades, and using finishing tools and equipment. OSHA 10 safety training is required within six months of hire.

What you'll do

• • Place, level, and finish concrete for slabs, walls and structural elements to plans and specifications
• • Prepare, inspect and adjust formwork and reinforcement prior to placement
• • Mix, handle and cure concrete to achieve required strength and appearance
• • Operate and maintain hand and power tools, screeds, floats and finishing equipment
• • Coordinate pours and sequence work with supervisors and other trades to meet schedule
• • Identify and report formwork, material or safety issues; follow site safety procedures

What we're looking for

• • 2–4 years of concrete construction experience (slabs, walls, finishing)
• • Proven ability to place, finish and cure concrete to plan requirements
• • Skill reading and interpreting drawings, layouts and elevations
• • Experience preparing formwork and setting reinforcement
• • Comfortable operating finishing tools and maintaining equipment
• • Willingness to follow safety rules; OSHA 10 preferred and required within 6 months

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10-Hour Construction (required within 6 months of hire)
• • High school diploma, GED or equivalent construction experience
• • 2–4 years of concrete craft experience
• • Ability to read technical drawings and perform basic layout math
• • English proficiency to follow safety directions and job instructions
• • Valid driver's license preferred
