Structured Cabling Technician

About this role

Experienced structured cabling technicians needed for a long-term 18–24 month project in Utah. This role requires technicians who can travel and remain onsite for the full project duration and who have strong hands-on experience with fiber and large-scale cabling systems. You’ll work on data center or large commercial systems installing, terminating, testing, splicing, and documenting cable systems. What you'll do

• • Install and terminate copper and optical fiber cabling to project specifications and industry standards
• • Perform fiber splicing, OTDR testing, power meter verification, and troubleshoot faulted links
• • Build out equipment rooms and racks, mount hardware, and install cable pathways and supports
• • Create and update as-built drawings, punch lists, and test documentation for acceptance
• • Coordinate with electricians, IT teams, and site supervisors; follow site safety and access procedures

What we're looking for

• • 4+ years structured cabling / datacom installation experience
• • Proven fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting, and splicing experience
• • Experience working on data center or large-scale structured cabling systems preferred
• • Able and willing to travel to and work in Utah for the full 18–24 month project duration
• • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to read drawings and follow work orders

Qualifications

• • Fiber certification such as CFOT or equivalent (preferred)
• • Experience with OTDR, power meters, fusion splicer, and test reporting
• • OSHA 10 (or site-equivalent safety training) preferred
• • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screening
• • Fluent English (reading and verbal) for jobsite communications
