Structured Cabling Technician

About this role

Immediate openings for experienced structured cabling technicians to work on a 12–18 month data center project in Utah. This is hands-on, full-time field work installing and testing copper and fiber systems in a fast-paced construction environment. You must be able to work independently, read and follow data center drawings, and use industry test equipment (OTDR, VFL, fiber scopes). Candidates need strong data center experience, excellent cable management skills, and the willingness to travel to the project site as required.

What you'll do

• • Install, terminate and test Cat6/Cat6A copper cabling to industry standards
• • Install, splice, terminate and test fiber optic cabling using OTDR, VFL and fiber scope equipment
• • Route cable through pathways, racks and trays; install supports and maintain correct bend radius
• • Label and document cable runs; produce accurate as-built records and punch-list completion
• • Follow data center drawings and blueprints; coordinate with electricians, trades and site superintendents
• • Maintain neat cable management, secure connectors, and perform routine QA checks on installed systems

What we're looking for

• • Minimum 4 years structured cabling experience; data center experience required
• • Proven experience with Cat6/Cat6A installation, termination and testing
• • Hands-on fiber installation, splicing and testing experience (OTDR, VFL, fiber scope)
• • Strong cable management skills and knowledge of proper bend radius and pathways
• • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and as-built documents
• • Willingness to travel and commit to a 12–18 month project schedule

Qualifications

• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to site
• • Able to pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
• • Proficient using fiber test equipment (OTDR, VFL, fiber scope) and cabling hand tools
• • Strong blueprint and technical drawing reading ability
• • Relevant structured cabling certifications or training preferred
• • English proficiency for safe worksite communication and documentation
