What You'll Do
- • Lead and work with the crew on taping, mudding, sanding and finishing to achieve level 5 surfaces.
- • Apply joint compound, perform patching/repairs, and complete a variety of texture finishes.
- • Train crew members on proper techniques, use of automatic taping tools, stilts, and best practices for quality and speed.
- • Inspect work daily for alignment, level, and surface quality; correct issues before handoff.
- • Coordinate with superintendents/PMs on schedule, materials, and manpower to meet project timelines.
- • Maintain a safe, organized jobsite and perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 5 years’ experience in drywall finishing and taping with proven level 5 finish results and texturing skills.
- • Prior experience as a foreman/lead or supervising a drywall crew in commercial or large residential projects.
- • Proficient with automatic taping tools, taping/mudding/sanding, joint compound application, and patching/repair.
- • Comfortable working on stilts and experienced with steel framing (interior, exterior nonbearing, partitions).
- • Strong inspection and quality-control skills — able to spot and fix alignment, leveling, and finish defects.
- • Willingness to relocate to Rapid City, SD; reliable transportation and steady attendance.
Qualifications
- • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to relocate for the role.
- • OSHA 10 (preferred) or equivalent safety training.
- • Able to pass background and drug screening as required by project sites.
- • Physically able to lift, carry, and work at heights (stilts) for extended periods; comfortable working in commercial construction environments.
What We Offer
- • Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates nationwide.
- • Competitive pay with overtime opportunities.
- • Steady commercial/project-based work in the Rapid City area.
- • On-the-job training and advancement to lead larger crews.
