Journeyman Electrician
About this role
We are seeking a journeyman electrician in El Paso, TX with solid commercial construction experience. This is a hands-on role on ground-up/base-build projects; candidates should have at least 5 years working in commercial environments. Mission-critical or data center project experience is strongly preferred. You’ll work on large commercial builds installing feeders, conduit and large cable, medium-voltage equipment, and standby/emergency systems. Expect a mix of indoor and outdoor work, coordination with other trades, project-based schedules, and opportunities for overtime on multi-phase projects.
What you'll do
- • Install, terminate and connect conduit, feeders, branch circuits and large power cabling on ground-up commercial projects
- • Read and interpret blueprints, single-line diagrams, and project drawings; follow ASIs and RFIs
- • Install and test medium-voltage equipment, overcurrent devices, transfer switches and standby/emergency power systems
- • Pull conduit and large cable; set and secure raceways, trays and supports
- • Troubleshoot, test and commission electrical systems; document work and report deficiencies
- • Coordinate with foremen, subcontractors and other trades to meet project schedules and site safety requirements
What we're looking for
- • Journeyman-level state electrician license (required)
- • Minimum 5 years commercial construction experience, including ground-up/base-build projects
- • Experience with conduit pulling, large cable installation and commercial electrical service installation
- • Familiarity with medium-voltage systems, selection/installation of overcurrent devices, and standby/emergency systems
- • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams and blueprints
- • Knowledge of local, state and federal electrical codes and strong commitment to jobsite safety
Qualifications
- • State journeyman electrician license (required)
- • 5+ years commercial construction experience
- • Proven ground-up/base-build project experience; mission-critical/data center experience preferred
- • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- • English required; Spanish language skills a plus
