Journeyman Commercial Electrician
About this role
We’re hiring a Journeyman Commercial Electrician in Surprise, AZ to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on commercial and institutional projects. This role is for a hands-on electrician with 10+ years of construction electrical experience who reads blueprints, troubleshoots systems, and enforces code and safety standards on active job sites. You’ll work closely with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and other trades to keep projects on schedule and meet client expectations. What you'll do
- • Install, maintain, and repair commercial and institutional electrical systems to code and project specifications
- • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings to layout and install systems
- • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, perform testing, and complete corrective repairs
- • Operate hand and power tools, conduit benders, testers, and other site equipment safely on active construction sites
- • Coordinate work with superintendents, project managers, engineers, and other trades to meet schedules and QA/QC standards
What we're looking for
- • 10+ years construction electrical experience on commercial or institutional projects
- • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- • Strong troubleshooting skills for power distribution, lighting, controls, and low-voltage systems
- • Comfort working on active construction sites and following site-specific safety procedures
- • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license; ability to travel to Surprise-area job sites
Qualifications
- • OSHA 30 (preferred) and OSHA 10
- • CPR and First Aid
- • Scissor lift operator certification
- • HazWoper 8-hour (preferred)
- • Spanish and English fluency
