Journeyman Electrician

About this role

Join a long-term industrial project near Abilene, TX as a journeyman electrician. This is day-shift work on a stable, 2-year assignment with steady hours and strong overtime potential. You'll install, troubleshoot, and start up both high- and low-voltage systems to project specs and code. This role requires hands-on industrial experience, the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, and an active Texas Journeyman Electrician license in good standing. Expect physical work outdoors in all weather, routine system testing and commissioning, and a focus on safe, code-compliant installations.

What you'll do

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, sketches and plans to determine work procedures and materials
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread and install conduit; install cable and duct banks and make terminations
  • Install control and distribution equipment, fasten in place and perform system start-up and testing
  • Troubleshoot, repair and verify continuity on high- and low-voltage systems and electrical equipment
  • Pull wire, connect wiring to fixtures and power equipment, and perform required adjustments or replacements
  • Operate hand, power and specialty tools; follow safety procedures and ensure work meets project specs and codes

What we're looking for

  • Active Texas Journeyman Electrician license in good standing (required at hire)
  • Proven industrial electrical experience with conduit bending, terminations, and cable/duct bank installation
  • Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Experience with both high- and low-voltage systems and system start-up/testing
  • Owns required electrician hand and power tools and basic test equipment
  • Able to work scheduled 5x10s with availability for extended rotations and significant overtime; willing to pass pre-access drug and fit-for-duty screening

Qualifications

  • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License — active and in good standing
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Owns and maintains basic electrician hand and power tools
  • Able to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit-for-duty screening
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and following project specifications
