Journeyman Electrician — Industrial (Near Abilene, TX)
About This Role
Long-term, industrial journeyman electrician positions available for a 2-year project near Abilene, TX. Day shift with a steady schedule (5x10s) and strong overtime potential. Pay is $45/hour plus $150/day per diem for days worked. You will install, troubleshoot and repair high- and low-voltage systems on heavy industrial construction. This role requires an active Texas Journeyman Electrician license in good standing and the ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors in all weather.
What You'll Do
- • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and project plans to lay out work and determine materials and methods
- • Measure, cut, bend, thread and assemble conduit; install cable and duct banks and make terminations
- • Install and secure control and distribution equipment, conduit supports, panels, breakers and overcurrent protection
- • Troubleshoot, test and commission electrical systems and equipment; verify continuity and safe operation during start-up
- • Pull wire, connect wiring to lighting and power equipment; work on both high- and low-voltage systems
- • Perform repairs, disassemble defective equipment, and inspect work for compliance with plans and safety standards
What We're Looking For
- • Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License in good standing (required at time of hire)
- • Proven journeyman-level experience on industrial projects (conduit, cable banks, terminations, start-up)
- • Skilled with conduit bending, pulling wire, terminations, and reading blueprints/technical drawings
- • Able to work at heights, in confined spaces and outdoors in all weather; physically capable of job duties
- • Owns required hand and power tools and can operate electrical/mechanical tools safely
- • Willing to work scheduled 5x10s with extended rotations (up to 13/1) and available for overtime, nights or weekends
Qualifications
- • Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License — active and in good standing
- • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience)
- • Must pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit-for-duty screening
- • Must have all required personal tools and PPE
- • English proficiency to read plans, follow instructions and communicate with supervision
