Electrician (Low-Voltage / Security)
About This Role
We're hiring a hands-on Electrician with solid low-voltage experience for projects in Charlotte, NC. You’ll install, terminate, and troubleshoot security systems (CCTV, access control), tele/data wiring, and fiber—while keeping projects on schedule and documenting daily progress. You must be organized, read and follow project documents, assign and configure IPs, and be comfortable troubleshooting networked security equipment. Hospital and data-center project experience is a plus; OSHA and manufacturer certifications are preferred.
What You'll Do
- • Read plans and scope; install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (tele/data, coax, fiber).
- • Install, configure, and troubleshoot CCTV, access control, and other security hardware and networked devices.
- • Assign/configure IPs and verify network connectivity for security and network equipment.
- • Perform fiber optic installation, testing, splicing troubleshooting and document results.
- • Produce daily reports, update job documentation, and communicate progress to foreman/supervisor.
- • Perform break-fix, hardware installs, and on-site troubleshooting to meet construction deadlines.
What We're Looking For
- • 3+ years hands-on low-voltage experience with security, CCTV, access control, and tele/data systems.
- • Experience installing and testing fiber optic cabling and equipment.
- • Ability to assign IPs, configure network settings, and troubleshoot networked security devices.
- • Comfortable reading project documents, pulling permits, completing daily job logs, and meeting schedules.
- • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass background check and drug screen.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- • BICSI or manufacturer certifications (AMAG, Verint, Exacq, Hanwha, etc.) a plus
- • Experience with AMAG Symmetry, Kantech, Verint, Exacqvision, Illustra, Hanwha, or similar systems preferred
- • Comfort working on hospital or data-center projects
- • Able to pass background check and drug screening; valid driver’s license required
