Electrician — Solar MV Terminator (Pueblo, CO)
About This Role
Seeking experienced electricians for Solar MV Terminator work on utility-scale PV projects in Pueblo, CO. You will perform medium-voltage cable terminations and splicing, test and troubleshoot PV arrays, and work with crews on site-built solar equipment. This is hands-on field work — expect outdoor conditions, lifting, and working from platforms or ladders. We need reliable, safety-focused electricians who know medium-voltage practices for solar farms. Candidates with MV termination and splicing experience are preferred; apprentices with PV experience will be considered. Bring a strong work ethic, basic tools, and the ability to follow written schematics and jobsite commands.
What You'll Do
- • Perform medium-voltage (MV) cable terminations and splicing on solar PV systems (MV TERMINATOR duties).
- • Install and connect PV inverters, combiner boxes, fuses, and grounding systems on utility-scale arrays.
- • Read electrical drawings, follow one-line diagrams, and execute work per site procedures and safety plans.
- • Test, troubleshoot, and verify MV terminations and system continuity using meters and cable testers.
- • Work with crew leads to set up hoists, man lifts, and fall protection; maintain clean, safe work areas.
- • Record work tickets, complete QC checklists, and communicate progress to supervisors.
What We're Looking For
- • Hands-on experience with PV (solar) farm work and PV system installation — medium-voltage experience required.
- • Proven MV termination and splicing skills; able to perform cable prep, lug installation, and resin or cold-shrink terminations.
- • Comfortable with general electrical work: conduit bending, cable pulling, grounding, and installation of electrical equipment.
- • Able to read electrical schematics and follow written installation instructions on site.
- • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in heat/cold, and work from lifts or ladders for extended periods.
- • Willingness to travel to Pueblo, CO site and work overtime when needed; APPRENTICE-level candidates with PV experience considered.
Qualifications
- • Experience in medium-voltage PV terminations and splicing (MV TERMINATOR experience).
- • OSHA 10 (minimum) — OSHA 30 preferred.
- • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- • NCCER, journeyman ticket, or related electrical apprenticeship background preferred; APPRENTICE candidates welcome.
- • CPR/First Aid and electrical safety training a plus.
- • English required; Spanish language skills are a plus.
What We Offer
- • Competitive pay with overtime opportunities (pay commensurate with experience).
- • Per diem or travel pay for multi-day assignments (when applicable).
- • Paid safety training and on-the-job certification support for MV termination and splicing.
- • Tools allowance or reimbursement for required hand tools and PPE.
- • Stable, project-based work on utility-scale solar farms with potential for repeat assignments.
- • Site-provided PPE and access to crew safety equipment (fall protection, lifts).
