Journeyman Electrician — Stress-Cone Specialist

About this role

We’re hiring a journeyman electrician for nationwide field assignments. This hands-on role requires a proven technician with at least 8 years in the skilled trades, strong medium-voltage experience, and manufacturer-approved stress-cone termination certification. You’ll work on cable terminations, switchgear, and distribution systems across sites, following safety procedures and job specs. Expect steady travel between project locations, hands-on troubleshooting, and independent work with support from site supervisors. The right candidate reads technical drawings, performs overcurrent device selection and installation, and completes quality terminations on schedule while maintaining a safety-first approach.

What you'll do

• • Perform stress-cone terminations and medium-voltage cable terminations per manufacturer guidelines and site procedures
• • Install, test, and commission overcurrent protective devices and associated switchgear
• • Read and follow technical drawings, schematics, and job plans to complete installations accurately
• • Troubleshoot electrical systems on-site, perform corrective repairs, and document work completed
• • Maintain clean, organized work areas and report hazards; follow lockout/tagout and electrical safety protocols
• • Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules and quality standards

What we're looking for

• • Minimum 8 years of skilled trades experience with substantial electrical field work
• • Journeyman-level electrician experience or equivalent proven competence
• • Proven medium-voltage experience (installation, testing, and termination)
• • Manufacturer-approved stress-cone termination certification (must be current)
• • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams
• • Willingness to travel nationwide and work extended hours or overtime as needed

Qualifications

• • Journeyman electrician license or documentation of equivalent experience
• • Manufacturer-approved stress-cone termination certification (current)
• • Proven experience with medium-voltage systems and overcurrent protection
• • Competent in technical drawing and blueprint interpretation
• • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to travel nationwide
• • Current electrical safety training (OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E or equivalent) and willingness to pass drug screen and background check
