General Laborer — SWPPP / Erosion Control (Per Diem)

About This Role

Traveling skilled general laborer needed in Orlando, FL to install, maintain, and repair erosion and sediment controls on active construction sites. This hands-on role focuses on SWPPP work: silt fences, wattles/fiber rolls, inlet protection, sediment basins, check dams, soil stabilization, and routine site cleanup to prevent pollution runoff. Expect outdoor, physical work with travel between job sites. You'll operate and maintain small equipment like mini skid steers and trenchers, follow SWPPP/StormLog.net and NPDES requirements, document inspections and repairs, and work with crews to keep sites compliant. This is a per diem position with weekly pay and travel support.

What You'll Do

• • Install silt fences, wattles/fiber rolls, inlet protection, sediment basins and check dams per SWPPP/StormLog.net specifications
• • Perform soil preparation, hydroseeding, mulching and install erosion control blankets for site stabilization
• • Inspect erosion and sediment controls, make repairs to maintain NPDES permit compliance, and document work in StormLog or site paperwork
• • Operate and perform basic maintenance on mini skid steers, trenchers and common power tools
• • Remove sediment from roads and drainage areas; load/unload materials and perform general site cleanup
• • Set up traffic control/flagging as required and enforce site safety procedures while reporting hazards

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 1 year experience installing/maintaining erosion and sediment controls or SWPPP work
• • Comfortable with physical outdoor labor and lifting 50+ lbs in varied weather conditions
• • Experience operating small equipment (skid steer, trencher) and performing routine equipment checks
• • Able to read basic civil drawings/site layouts and follow SWPPP/NPDES specifications
• • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation; able to travel between sites on per diem assignments
• • Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Qualifications

• • Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• • OSHA 10-hour preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• • ATSSA flagging/traffic control certification preferred
• • Experience with SWPPP, StormLog or other stormwater documentation systems
• • Familiarity with NPDES permit requirements
• • Ability to pass drug test and background check; fluent English for safety communication
