Labor Journeyman
About This Role
Join our crew in Petersburg, VA as a Labor Journeyman. You’ll keep job sites clean and safe, assist carpenters, masons and other trades, handle deliveries and material storage, and help direct construction and pedestrian traffic under the guidance of a foreperson. This is hands-on work in all weather conditions. If you’re dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable doing physical tasks on active construction sites, this role offers steady, practical work and on-the-job training to help you grow.
What You'll Do
- • Perform site setup, cleanup, and removal of construction debris (interior and exterior housekeeping)
- • Assist carpenters, masons, and other trades with basic labor tasks as directed by Foreperson
- • Clean and sanitize jobsite trailers and maintain organized material storage
- • Receive and assist with basic deliveries; load and unload materials safely
- • Direct and coordinate construction and pedestrian traffic on and near the site
- • Report all safety incidents, injuries, and near-misses to the Foreperson and Safety Leader
What We're Looking For
- • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
- • OSHA 10 certification (required) and willingness to follow all site safety rules
- • Valid ATTSA flagger certification for Virginia (or willingness to obtain with company assistance)
- • Experience with loading/unloading materials, inventory control, and site layout preferred
- • Strong verbal and written communication; follow directions from Foreperson and crew leads
- • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor (lifting, bending, standing)
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 certification (required)
- • ATTSA flagger certification valid for Virginia (required or company-assisted)
- • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
- • Proof of certifications and credentials upon hire
- • English required
