Drill Rig Operator
About this role
Experienced drill rig operators are needed in Ridgeland, MS to operate kelly and single-pass drill rig configurations. This role focuses on installing auger-cast and displacement piles using single-pass methods; candidates must have a minimum of 5 years operating experience in these configurations. This is a full-time, on-site role working with foundation and concrete crews. Operators will follow site drawings and layout, perform routine equipment checks, keep production logs, and work under a site safety program. What you'll do
- • Operate kelly and single-pass drill rigs to install auger-cast and displacement piles using single-pass techniques
- • Set up, rig, and dismantle drill equipment and tooling; perform pre-start inspections
- • Read and follow construction drawings and site layout for pile location, depth, and elevation
- • Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep rigs productive
- • Coordinate with foremen, concrete crews, and laborers to sequence piles and confirm placements
- • Maintain daily production logs, equipment reports, and comply with site safety procedures
What we're looking for
- • Minimum 5 years' experience operating drill rigs in kelly and single-pass configurations
- • Proven ability to install auger-cast and displacement piles using single-pass methods
- • Competent reading and interpretation of construction drawings and site layout
- • Experience with general construction, concrete work, and excavation/trench operations
- • Physically able to perform heavy outdoor work and work at varying heights
- • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work extended shifts as project needs require
Qualifications
- • 5+ years drill rig operating experience (kelly and single-pass)
- • Demonstrated auger-cast and displacement pile installation experience
- • Able to read construction drawings and verify site layout
- • Heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent preferred
- • OSHA 10 (or higher) preferred; willing to complete site-specific training
- • Valid driver's license and ability to complete pre-employment checks
