Heavy Equipment Operator
About this role
We need experienced heavy equipment operators in Fort Worth, TX to run dozers, excavators, loaders and other large machines for road and right-of-way maintenance and repair. Work includes loading, hauling, grading, trenching, ditch and culvert construction, and installation of water and sewer pipe. You’ll work on jobsites that range from smooth surfaces to rough terrain and be expected to inspect and maintain your equipment daily. This is hands-on field work with a strong focus on safe operation and equipment care. You may be asked to train or mentor less-experienced operators and help enforce site inspection and test plans. Bring a solid work ethic, clean driving record, and the ability to work full shifts and overtime when required. What you'll do
- • Operate dozers, excavators, loaders and other heavy equipment for road and right-of-way maintenance
- • Load, haul and dump materials; spread rock, gravel and base; smooth and grade surfaces
- • Trench, construct ditches and install culverts, water lines and sewer pipes
- • Perform daily equipment inspections, check fluid levels, perform lubrication and basic maintenance
- • Follow and help enforce inspection and test plans (ITPs) and safe work procedures; train or mentor other operators as needed
What we're looking for
- • Proven experience operating dozers, excavators and loaders on road or utility projects
- • Ability to perform grading, trenching, material loading/unloading and culvert/pipe installation
- • Strong equipment maintenance skills: daily checks, fluid/lube management and basic troubleshooting
- • Knowledge of ITPs and ability to identify and report defects or problems on equipment and structures
- • Reliable transportation to Fort Worth-area jobsites, ability to work full shifts and overtime when required
Qualifications
- • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to pass background and drug/alcohol screening
- • Equipment operator certification or documented heavy-equipment experience (dozer/excavator/loader)
- • OSHA 10-hour construction card or equivalent site safety training preferred
- • Able to lift, climb and work in variable outdoor conditions; physically able to perform heavy labor
- • Spanish-speaking or bilingual applicants a plus
