Heavy Equipment Operator

About This Role

Seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators in Fort Worth, TX to run dozers, excavators and loaders on road and right-of-way maintenance projects. You’ll work on grading, loading, hauling, trenching and installing culverts and pipes on a mix of smooth and rough terrain. This is hands-on field work with steady hours and pay of $20–$30/hr depending on experience. You’ll be responsible for routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance, and may be asked to train less-experienced crew members in safe operation and job techniques.

What You'll Do

• • Operate dozers, excavators, loaders and other heavy equipment for road and right-of-way work
• • Load, haul and dump materials; grade roads and spread gravel and rock
• • Trench and construct ditches; install culverts, water and sewer pipes; remove silt and debris
• • Perform routine equipment inspections, check fluid levels and perform basic lubrication and maintenance
• • Follow jobsite safety rules, flagging and traffic control; train or mentor less-experienced operators as required

What We're Looking For

• • Proven experience operating dozers, excavators and loaders (2+ years preferred)
• • Comfortable working on rough terrain and in outdoor conditions
• • Ability to read grade stakes and perform basic grading and finishing work
• • Knowledge of routine equipment checks, fluid maintenance and lubrication
• • Able to follow safety procedures, read simple plans and communicate with crew

Qualifications

• • Valid driver's license required; clean driving record preferred
• • CDL preferred but not required
• • Equipment operator certification (NCCER or equivalent) or OSHA 10 preferred
• • Able to pass background and drug screening
• • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb on/off equipment and work in varying weather
