- • Load, haul, spread and grade materials (gravel, dirt, sand); smooth and maintain road surfaces
- • Trench and construct ditches; install culverts, water and sewer pipe; remove silt and debris
- • Inspect machines daily; check fluid levels, filters, tire/undercarriage condition and perform basic maintenance
- • Safely load and unload material and operate on rough, uneven terrain
- • Train and mentor other operators in safe equipment operation and job techniques
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 2 years operating dozers, excavators and loaders on construction or public-works crews
- • Ability to perform grading, trenching, pipe and culvert installation, and material handling
- • Basic mechanical knowledge to inspect and maintain fluid levels, lubrication and routine equipment checks
- • Read basic site plans and follow foreman directions; strong attention to safety and PPE use
- • Able to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, and work extended hours/overtime when needed
Qualifications
- • Valid driver’s license (clean driving record preferred)
- • OSHA 10-hour or willingness to obtain
- • Operator certification (NCCER or similar) preferred but not required
- • High school diploma or GED preferred
- • Able to pass drug screen and background check
What We Offer
- • Pay $20–$30 per hour based on experience
- • Overtime available; steady, year-round work on public-works projects
- • Paid training and on-the-job mentorship for operator skills
- • Weekly pay and reliable schedules
- • Safety gear allowance and opportunities for operator certification support
