We are hiring experienced heavy equipment operators in Austin, TX for earthmoving and sitework projects. You will run dozers, graders, excavators, loaders and other site equipment to move material, shape grades, and support paving and civil work. This role is hands-on and production-focused: expect day shifts, early starts, and occasional overtime to meet project schedules. Safety and proper equipment maintenance are required—you'll work with the foreman and crew to keep machines running and the site moving.

What you'll do

  • Operate dozers, motor graders, excavators, loaders, skid steers and dump trucks for earthmoving, grading and site prep
  • Load and unload material, place fill, cut/fill to grade, and assist paving crews as directed
  • Perform daily machine checks, basic preventative maintenance, and report defects
  • Follow site layout and grades using stakes, stringline, GPS or laser as required
  • Work with foremen and crew to meet production targets while maintaining safe work zones
  • Comply with site safety plans, traffic controls, and equipment lockout/tagout procedures

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience operating a range of heavy equipment on civil or sitework projects
  • Skilled in grader, loader, dozer, excavator and dump truck operation; paving experience a plus
  • Ability to read basic grade stakes, stringline and follow site layout instructions
  • Basic heavy equipment maintenance skills and ability to perform pre-shift inspections
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to Austin job sites
  • Willingness to work early starts, long days, and occasional overtime to meet schedules

Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 (or OSHA 30 preferred) and site-specific safety training
  • CDL Class A preferred but not always required depending on role
  • Equipment operator card/certification or documented on-the-job experience
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background/driver record check
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

What we offer

  • Consistent, multi-week site assignments in the Austin area
  • Site-provided PPE and safety gear; jobsite training and toolbox talks
  • Opportunities for skills training and equipment-specific certifications
  • Paid time off and health benefits available (details provided during hiring)
  • Overtime opportunities during peak project periods
  • Travel/mileage reimbursement or daily site logistics support on select projects
