Heavy Equipment Operator

About This Role

Per diem Heavy Equipment Operator needed in Newnan, GA. This is hands-on work on site-prep and earthmoving projects with competitive daily pay, travel and lodging stipend, and immediate start dates. Open to workers willing to relocate — relocation assistance available for the right candidates. You will run dozers, excavators, loaders and graders on commercial and civil jobs (site prep, grading, utility trenches, and roadwork). Expect 10–12 hour days, work in all weather, and steady project schedules. If you know your equipment, follow grades, and keep machines maintained, this is straightforward, well-paid field work.

What You'll Do

• • Operate dozers, excavators, loaders, graders and skid steers safely and efficiently on site
• • Perform site prep, grading, trenching, backfill and material placement to plan and grade stakes
• • Read and follow grade stakes, plans and survey markings; adjust machine work to specs
• • Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform basic maintenance, and report defects
• • Work with spotters, laborers and foremen to maintain productivity and site safety
• • Load/unload and secure equipment for transport when required

What We're Looking For

• • Minimum 3 years of heavy equipment operation experience on construction sites
• • Comfortable working 10–12 hour days and in outdoor conditions year-round
• • Valid driver's license and reliable to relocate or report to staging site as required
• • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check and DOT physical if required
• • Basic ability to read grade stakes, use hand signals, and perform simple measurements

Qualifications

• • OSHA 10-hour construction card (preferred)
• • CDL Class A or B — preferred but not always required
• • DOT medical card or ability to obtain one
• • Equipment operator certificate (NCCER or equivalent) a plus
• • Fluent in English; Spanish a plus
• • Clean driving record
