Full Time
Heavy Equipment Operator (Travel / Nationwide)
About This Role
Join a crew of experienced heavy equipment operators who travel across the United States to move dirt and shape job sites. You’ll run scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders on civil construction projects — short- and long-term assignments — and be expected to work safely, reliably and productively in a variety of conditions. This role is for hands-on operators who can adapt to different sites, handle routine equipment maintenance, follow GPS/grade controls and enforce safety procedures. Travel is required; you’ll be placed where projects need experienced operators and will receive travel pay and per diem while on assignment.
What You'll Do
- • Operate scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders safely and efficiently to meet daily production goals
- • Follow site plans, grade stakes and GPS/grade-control systems to achieve specified grades and tolerances
- • Perform pre- and post-shift equipment inspections; report defects and perform basic maintenance (fluids, greasing, track/tire checks)
- • Follow and enforce site safety procedures, use PPE, participate in toolbox talks and report hazards immediately
- • Adapt to changing site conditions, communicate with foremen and crew, and document hours, travel and job progress
- • Travel to assigned projects nationwide, load/unload equipment as needed, and comply with on-site logistics and lodging rules
What We're Looking For
- • Proven experience operating scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders on civil construction projects
- • Comfort using GPS/grade-control systems and reading grade stakes and site plans
- • Strong mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and daily equipment checks
- • Ability to work long hours, weekends or overtime when projects demand and to travel for extended assignments
- • Commitment to following and enforcing safety procedures on every jobsite
Qualifications
- • Valid driver's license and clean driving record; ability to obtain CDL Class A preferred
- • OSHA 10-hour (or higher) preferred
- • First Aid/CPR and flagging certification a plus
- • Experience with GPS/grade-control systems and blade/dozer controls
- • Willingness to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check; able to travel and stay on-site as required
What We Offer
- • Competitive pay with travel pay or per diem while on assignment
- • Overtime opportunities and weekly pay options
- • Paid training and skill development on GPS/grade control and new equipment
- • Health insurance and retirement options (where offered by placement)
- • Travel and lodging coordination for out-of-town assignments
- • A stable pipeline of projects nationwide for steady work
