About This Role

Join a crew of experienced heavy equipment operators based in Texas City, TX. This per diem travel role requires operators who can run scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders on civil construction projects across the United States. You’ll move between job sites, follow GPS grade plans, and get earthwork done safely and on schedule. This job is for hands-on operators with a strong work ethic and flexibility to travel. Expect long days on-site, routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance, and close coordination with foremen and crews. What You'll Do

  • Operate scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders safely and efficiently using GPS and blade control as required by the job.
  • Perform site prep, grading, cut/fill operations, compaction and material moving to meet project specifications.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform basic maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Follow project plans, grade strings and GPS controls; coordinate with foremen, spotters and other crew members to maintain productivity and safety.
  • Adhere to site safety rules and enforce safe work practices; complete required paperwork, time sheets and travel logs for each assignment.
  • Travel to and from job sites nationwide on assigned schedules; load, secure or assist with equipment mobilization as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience operating scrapers, dozers, excavators, rollers and loaders on civil construction projects (2+ years preferred).
  • Comfortable using GPS grade control systems, blade control and basic site layout references.
  • Ability to perform general heavy equipment maintenance and daily pre/post-op inspections.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide for assignments and work extended hours when project demands require.
  • Able to follow and enforce safety procedures, use PPE, and work in varying weather and site conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

  • OSHA-10 (required) or OSHA-30 (preferred).
  • NCCER or other heavy equipment operator certification preferred.
  • CDL Class A preferred or ability to obtain when required by assignment.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check.
  • English required; Spanish helpful for crews and site communication.
