HVAC Technician II - LAX Airport, Los Angeles, CA

About this role

We are hiring an experienced HVAC Technician II to perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems at LAX Airport in Los Angeles, CA. This is hands-on field work in an active airport environment — you’ll work on controls, power electrical systems, motors, starters, and primary control components. The role requires intermediate troubleshooting skills with ladder logic, diagrams and schematics, plus the ability to make wiring hook-ups and upgrade equipment as needed. You will also perform repairs and preventative maintenance on building systems including automatic transfer switches, UPS/battery storage, emergency generators and photovoltaic systems, and assist in training lower-grade personnel. Shifts vary and will include nights, weekends and holidays as required by the operation.

What you'll do

  • Install, assemble, inspect, adjust, repair or replace motors, starters, relays, limit switches, fuses and primary HVAC control components
  • Troubleshoot intermediate electronic and electrical systems using ladder logic, wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Perform wiring hook-ups for new installations and upgrade existing equipment as needed
  • Maintain and repair building electrical systems including automatic transfer switches, UPS/battery systems, emergency generators and photovoltaic equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance, document work, and recommend improvements to methods, materials and tools
  • Assist in training and instructing junior technicians and follow site-specific safety and airport procedures

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience servicing commercial HVAC systems with intermediate troubleshooting skills
  • Proven ability to read and interpret ladder logic, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Skilled in electrical repairs and new installation wiring hook-ups for motors, starters and control devices
  • Experience working on ATS, generators, UPS/battery systems and photovoltaic equipment
  • Willingness and ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal certification
  • Fluent in English (required)
