HVAC Technician

About this role

Join a local commercial HVAC team in Cincinnati working on rooftop units, chillers, air handlers and packaged systems. You’ll be responsible for system start-up and testing, diagnosing issues on site, and completing repairs to keep buildings running. This is field-focused work: service calls, preventative maintenance, system commissions, and customer-facing troubleshooting. Candidates should be comfortable working in mechanical rooms, on roofs, and in occupied commercial spaces, with a focus on safe, efficient fixes and clear communication with site contacts.

What you'll do

• • Perform system start-up, commissioning, and sequence-of-operation checks for commercial HVAC equipment
• • Troubleshoot and diagnose controls, compressors, refrigeration circuits, and air distribution problems
• • Complete routine and preventive maintenance on rooftop units, packaged systems, boilers, and chillers
• • Document work performed, parts used, and test results; complete service tickets and reports accurately
• • Communicate with building managers and occupants about system status, repair timelines, and safety
• • Maintain tools, vehicle, and inventory; ensure job sites are left clean and safe

What we're looking for

• • Hands-on experience with commercial HVAC systems, controls, and refrigeration troubleshooting
• • Ability to perform system start-up, testing and commissioning procedures
• • Proficient with diagnostic tools: multimeter, manifold gauges, refrigerant scale, and combustion analyzer
• • Comfort working at heights, in mechanical rooms, and in occupied commercial facilities
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local service routes

Qualifications

• • EPA 608 certification (Type II or Universal preferred)
• • HVACR technical certificate or trade school training preferred
• • OSHA 10-hour or equivalent safety training preferred
• • Clean driving record and ability to pass background and drug screening
• • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods
• • English required; Spanish or other language skills a plus
