Ironworker — Structural Fabrication

About This Role

Ironworker needed to perform bolt-up assembly and installation of structural steel components in a busy fabrication facility in Beaumont, TX. You’ll read and interpret fabrication drawings, align and fit steel members, and complete bolt-up work to project specifications while following safety and quality procedures. This is hands-on work in both indoor and outdoor areas of the shop and yard. Competitive pay is offered (DOE), steady schedules, and a focus on safe, quality fabrication. Bring your experience reading drawings, using hand and power tools, and working safely at height and in varying weather.

What You'll Do

  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and shop sketches to determine fit and assembly.
  • Align, position, and fit structural steel components for bolt-up assemblies.
  • Perform bolt-up assembly and tighten hardware to specified torque and pattern.
  • Inspect and receive incoming materials; verify parts, sizes, and condition against paperwork.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, hoists, and rigging equipment used in structural assembly.
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures; report defects and non-conforming materials.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in ironworking, structural steel, or fabrication preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and fabrication notes.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills for measurements and fit-up work.
  • Comfort working indoors and outdoors; able to work at heights and in varied weather.
  • Able to safely operate tools and equipment used in structural assembly (wrenches, impact guns, grinders, hoists).
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, climb, and stand for long periods; commitment to safe work practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; trade school certificate a plus.
  • OSHA 10-hour construction card preferred.
  • Rigging, slinging, or NCCER/ironworker credentials a plus.
  • Forklift / powered industrial truck certification preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug screen.
  • Proficient English for reading drawings and communicating on the jobsite.
