Ironworker / Structural Welder

About this role

Looking for experienced ironworkers and welders in Dallas, TX to join local structural steel crews. Work will focus on commercial and industrial structural ironwork: installing columns and beams, fitting and joining steel members, rigging, and field welding. This is hands-on field work on Dallas-area projects. Candidates should be comfortable reading technical drawings, working at heights, performing SMAW/GMAW/FCAW welds, and handling oxyfuel cutting and rigging tasks. Foreman and lead welding opportunities are available for proven performers.

What you'll do

• • Read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints for layout and installation
• • Fit, align and install steel columns, beams and bracing on commercial and industrial sites
• • Perform structural welding using SMAW, GMAW and FCAW; complete welds to code and inspection standards
• • Rig, signal and assist with hoisting and setting steel members; perform oxyfuel cutting as needed
• • Inspect own welds and connections, make necessary repairs, and document work for QA/QC
• • Coordinate with foreman, crew members and other trades to maintain safe, efficient field operations

What we're looking for

• • Proven experience with structural steel welding and general ironwork in the field
• • Skilled in SMAW, GMAW and FCAW welding processes; ability to produce welds to structural weld procedure requirements
• • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings and weld symbols
• • Experience with rigging, hoisting and placing steel members; comfortable working at heights
• • Familiarity with oxyfuel cutting and preparing materials for fit-up
• • Physically able to perform heavy manual tasks, work outdoors, and follow site safety rules

Qualifications

• • AWS welding certification or documented welding test results preferred
• • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card preferred
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Dallas job sites
• • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• • Comfortable communicating in English on jobsite; other languages a plus
