Refractory Mason (Travel - Nationwide)

About this role

Work on industrial refractory projects across the U.S. We’re hiring experienced refractory techs with hands-on masonry skills who can travel to project sites. Assignments are travel-based and may run multiple weeks at a time. This role is a nationwide search — candidates from any state are welcome. You’ll be working with castables, brick, gunning and other refractory materials on job sites that require careful installation, repair, and maintenance of high-temp linings.

What you'll do

• • Install, repair and maintain refractory linings using brick, castable mixes, gunning, ramming and related methods
• • Prepare substrates, mix materials to spec, set forms, and finish surfaces according to drawings and job specifications
• • Read plans and follow project instructions; complete quality checks and document work daily
• • Handle, stage and move refractory materials and equipment safely; assist with rigging and hoisting when required
• • Follow site safety rules, wear required PPE, and participate in site-specific safety meetings and inspections

What we're looking for

• • Proven refractory-related masonry experience (industrial refractory work preferred)
• • Solid understanding of construction methods & materials and general masonry techniques
• • Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for multi-week assignments
• • Physically fit for heavy manual labor, working in high-heat and confined areas, and lifting heavy materials
• • Reliable, punctual, able to follow instructions and work on crew-based projects

Qualifications

• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job start points
• • Ability to pass drug screen and background check where required
• • OSHA 10 (or equivalent) and other site safety certifications preferred
• • Forklift/heavy-equipment or rigging certification preferred but not required
• • Proficiency reading blueprints/specifications and basic jobsite math; English communication skills
