Pipefitter — Instrument Fitter (Memphis, TN)
About this role
We are hiring experienced instrument fitters for a project in Memphis, TN. This is a per diem, project-based assignment in an industrial construction environment. Work will focus on instrument tubing, piping installation, and precision fitting on site. Expect hands-on pipefitting and instrument work: reading and working from technical drawings, installing and testing instrument piping and components, and coordinating with other trades on a busy industrial site. Per diem is provided for eligible workers and site safety orientation will be required before starting.
What you'll do
- • Read and interpret piping and instrument drawings, mechanical blueprints, and technical schematics
- • Install, assemble, and fit instrument tubing, piping, valves, fittings, and supports
- • Perform termination, connection, and leak testing of instrument lines and assemblies
- • Follow project installation sequences and coordinate with pipefitters, electricians, and technicians
- • Maintain site safety standards, complete permits and hatches, and keep work area clean and organized
What we're looking for
- • Proven instrument fitting or pipefitting experience on industrial projects
- • Strong drawing reading/interpretation and technical blueprint reading skills
- • Hands-on piping installation and general pipefitting experience
- • Familiarity with piping & mechanical blueprint interpretation and instrument tubing practices
- • Ability to work safely in an industrial construction environment and follow site safety rules
- • Able to work full shifts on project schedule and travel to site as required
Qualifications
- • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (OSHA10 / OSHA30) preferred or equivalent site safety training
- • Demonstrated blueprint/technical drawing interpretation skills
- • Prior industrial construction and instrument fitting experience
- • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check if required by site
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to site
