Pipelayer — Cartersville, GA

About this role

We’re hiring a hands-on pipelayer in Cartersville, GA to install HDPE and carbon steel piping on underground utilities and industrial pipe runs. This role focuses on field pipe installation—trenching, laying, joining, and backfilling—on local construction sites. This is a working crew position for someone experienced with HDPE fusion and carbon steel pipe connections. You’ll be expected to operate common field equipment, follow site safety procedures, and work with a small team to complete scheduled installs on time.

What you'll do

• • Layout, trenching support and accurate placement of HDPE and carbon steel pipe per plans
• • Perform HDPE fusion, butt fusion or electrofusion and join carbon steel using mechanical couplings, welding prep, or bolting as required
• • Assemble, align and secure pipe sections; install bedding, anchors, and supports; perform backfill and compaction
• • Operate hand and power tools, pipe fusion machines, trenchers, and lifting gear safely
• • Read basic piping drawings and follow site instructions; coordinate with crew leads and QC for fit-up and tie-ins
• • Maintain tools and equipment, keep work area clean, and follow site-specific safety procedures

What we're looking for

• • Minimum 2–4 years’ pipelaying experience with HDPE and carbon steel pipe in underground or industrial settings
• • Hands-on experience with HDPE fusion equipment and carbon steel pipe installation methods
• • Ability to read basic plans, measure and lay out pipe runs, and use common pipe tools and lifting gear
• • Comfort working in trenches, confined spaces, and outdoor conditions; able to lift and carry heavy materials
• • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to follow direction on a crew
• • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to site

Qualifications

• • HDPE fusion certification preferred (but not required if experienced)
• • Welding certification (SMAW/GMAW) for carbon steel preferred
• • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
• • CPR/First Aid preferred
• • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• • English proficiency to follow instructions and read plans
