Hyperscale Datacenter Electrical Construction Project Manager
About this role
Lead mission-critical electrical construction work on large hyperscale datacenter builds across the country. You’ll run projects from pre-construction through closeout — set up jobs, manage budgets and change orders, coordinate VDC/BIM and prefabrication, direct field crews and subcontractors, and maintain owner/GC relationships. This role splits time between the office and jobsite. Expect regular site visits, weekly schedule and cost reviews, and hands-on problem solving to keep projects safe, on schedule, and profitable.
What you'll do
- • Set up projects: create job cost budgets, schedule of values, purchase orders and subcontracts; manage submittals and RFI process.
- • Manage VDC/BIM and prefabrication efforts: coordinate with VDC/BIM lead and superintendent to produce constructible models and prefab delivery schedules.
- • Create and maintain project schedule and manpower plan; update weekly and drive field coordination to hit key milestones (underground, permanent power, conditioned air).
- • Oversee material management and jobsite logistics: order, receive, inspect and stage material; track equipment and vendor deliveries.
- • Direct subcontractor performance: verify scopes, monitor manpower, manage billing and ensure work meets project requirements and QA/QC standards.
- • Track project financials monthly: billings, WIP, cost-to-complete, change order pricing and status; prepare accurate progress reports for operations team.
What we're looking for
- • 5+ years managing mission-critical electrical construction projects (datacenter or similar) with proven project delivery track record.
- • Strong budgeting and cost control skills: job set up, tracking hours, change order pricing, WIP and progress billing.
- • Hands-on experience with VDC/BIM coordination, prefab workflows, material management and site logistics.
- • Proficiency with construction software and tools (scheduling, estimating/accounting platforms, Excel, Bluebeam, Revit or similar).
- • Ability to travel nationwide for jobsite oversight; reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- • BS in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience (associate degree + trade experience considered).
- • 5–10 years construction project management experience on mission-critical or commercial electrical work.
- • OSHA-30 preferred; first aid/CPR recommended.
- • Experience with Bluebeam, Revit/VDC workflows and construction accounting/scheduling software.
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationally; clear background and drug screen as required.
- • English required; Spanish or other language skills a plus.
What we offer
- • Medical, dental and vision plan options.
- • Retirement plan with company contributions.
- • Paid time off and holidays.
- • Travel per diem and mileage reimbursement for jobsite work.
- • Training and certification reimbursement to keep skills current.
