Hyperscale Datacenter Electrical Project Manager
About this role
Lead large, mission‑critical electrical construction projects for hyperscale datacenters across the country. You’ll run projects from pre‑construction through closeout — setting up jobs, managing budgets and schedules, directing subcontractors and ensuring safety and quality. This is a hands‑on project management role: you’ll own contract administration, change orders, material procurement, VDC/BIM coordination, prefabrication plans, site logistics and client relationships. Travel to sites will be required; pay is competitive and tied to experience and performance.
What you'll do
- • Set up jobs and manage contract administration: create job cost budgets, Schedule of Values, POs, subcontracts and BOMs.
- • Track project financials: billings, WIP, cost‑to‑complete, change orders and monthly WIP reports using construction/accounting software.
- • Oversee VDC/BIM, prefabrication and material management: coordinate layout, shop assemblies, deliveries and on‑site logistics.
- • Direct scheduling and manpower planning: update schedules weekly, manage field org charts and monitor subcontractor performance.
- • Lead safety and QA/QC on the project: develop site safety and QA plans, manage daily reports, testing and punchlists with the superintendent.
- • Maintain owner/GC/vendor relationships and handle RFIs, claims and closeout documentation.
What we're looking for
- • 5–10 years managing mission‑critical/datacenter electrical projects (electrical contractor background preferred).
- • Proven experience with budgeting, cost tracking, change order pricing and billing reconciliation.
- • Hands‑on VDC/BIM coordination and prefabrication experience; ability to review drawings for constructability.
- • Strong scheduling and manpower planning skills; able to keep large crews and multiple subcontractors on track.
- • Proficient with Excel and common construction/accounting software (Procore, Sage, Spectrum, Trimble or similar).
- • Clear communicator and leader on site — enforces safety, quality and project standards.
Qualifications
- • BS in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent experience (associate + field time accepted).
- • OSHA 30 (required or willing to obtain).
- • PMP, CCM or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and VDC/BIM tools; Spectrum/Procore/Sage experience a plus.
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites nationwide.
- • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
What we offer
- • Competitive pay (typical range $110,000–$160,000/yr DOE) plus performance bonuses.
- • Medical, dental and vision insurance.
- • 401(k) with employer match.
- • Paid time off, paid travel/per diem for site assignments and mileage or company vehicle reimbursement where applicable.
- • Training and certification support (software, safety and technical training).
- • Opportunities for career growth on national datacenter projects.
