NDE Technician – Level II MT/PT
About this role
Perform nondestructive examinations and quality inspections at a fabrication/industrial site in Walker, LA. This hands-on role focuses on MT/PT inspections and other NDE methods to verify materials, find defects, and support project quality requirements on both day and night shifts. You will set up and calibrate inspection equipment, evaluate and document results, prepare inspection reports, and provide guidance to Level I NDE personnel. Benefits eligibility starts quickly and a 10% night shift differential is offered for overnight assignments.
What you'll do
- • Perform MT, PT, VT, UT, RT, dimensional, leak, and material verification inspections per procedures, codes, and customer specs
- • Set up, operate, calibrate, and maintain NDE equipment and instrumentation; keep calibration records current
- • Evaluate and interpret inspection data, document results, and prepare clear inspection reports and quality records
- • Identify and report defects/nonconformances; notify QC leads and provide guidance to Level I NDE personnel
- • Follow safety procedures, maintain a clean and orderly work area, and support project quality objectives
What we're looking for
- • Level II MT and Level II PT certifications required; Level II VT preferred
- • Hands-on NDE/NDT experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments
- • Ability to read and interpret drawings, procedures, specifications, and inspection acceptance criteria
- • Skill in operating and troubleshooting NDE equipment and instrumentation; maintain calibration and test records
- • Willing and able to work day or night shifts and follow site safety and quality rules
Qualifications
- • Level II Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) — required
- • Level II Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) — required
- • Level II Visual Testing (VT) — preferred; UT/RT certifications a plus
- • OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training
- • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to pass jobsite background and drug screen
- • Strong verbal and written communication for reporting and team coordination
