QA/QC Welding Manager (CWI)

About this role

Seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to lead welding quality and inspection activities in Kansas City, MO. This role focuses on hands-on inspection, drawing interpretation, NDT oversight, and managing day-to-day welding quality control tasks on site. You will be based in Kansas City with project site work and occasional travel to nearby sites. The right candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with welding procedures and inspection methods, and able to communicate clearly with field crews, contractors, and project managers. What you'll do

• • Perform welding inspections and verify weld quality against procedures, codes, and drawings
• • Read and interpret technical drawings, weld maps, and fabrication documents
• • Oversee and coordinate NDT activities (RT/UT/MT/PT) and review NDT reports
• • Document inspection results, write inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
• • Work with field crews and contractors to resolve quality issues and enforce corrective actions

What we're looking for

• • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required
• • Proven experience in welding inspection, drawing interpretation, and quality control
• • Familiarity with common welding processes and ability to identify weld defects
• • Experience with NDT methods or coordination with NDT technicians
• • Strong communication skills and ability to work on-site with construction crews

Qualifications

• • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) — required
• • NDT certification preferred (RT, UT, MT or PT) or experience coordinating NDT
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits
• • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade education a plus
• • Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required
