Certified Weld Inspector

About this role

We’re hiring a Certified Weld Inspector to lead welding quality assurance and inspection work on nationwide projects. This is a hands-on QA/QC role focused on field inspections, blueprint interpretation, procedure review, and clear documentation of weld quality and nonconformances. Typical work is site-based with frequent travel to regional project locations. You’ll review welding procedures, coordinate NDT as needed, verify code compliance, and communicate directly with site crews and project managers to keep work moving and meet inspection hold points.

What you'll do

• • Perform visual weld inspections and verify welds meet applicable codes and WPS/PQR requirements
• • Review and approve welding procedures, monitor welder qualifications, and document testing
• • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to verify weld locations, joint details, and tolerances
• • Coordinate and/or perform NDT (UT, MT, PT) when required and review NDT reports for acceptance
• • Prepare clear inspection reports, nonconformance notices, and daily quality records
• • Work with site leads to correct issues, follow up on repairs, and close out punch lists

What we're looking for

• • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential required
• • Hands-on welding knowledge and practical experience with welding processes and codes
• • Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills
• • Experience managing quality control documentation and inspection reports
• • Familiarity with common NDT methods and the ability to coordinate testing on site
• • Ability to travel regularly and work on-site for project durations

Qualifications

• • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) — required
• • NDT certifications preferred (ASNT Level II or equivalent for UT/MT/PT where needed)
• • Working knowledge of welding codes such as AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX
• • Valid driver's license and ability to travel across job sites
• • Fluent in English for clear reporting and on-site communication
