Safety Superintendent
About this role
Lead safety for electrical construction and datacenter projects across North Carolina as the senior on-site safety authority. You’ll supervise and mentor Safety Coordinators and Specialists, develop site-specific safety plans, run audits and inspections, and work directly with project teams to eliminate hazards. This field-based role requires strong leadership in the field, hands-on incident investigations and root cause analysis, and clear communication with project management and corporate safety. Travel between project sites is expected; candidates willing to relocate are encouraged to apply.
What you'll do
- • Supervise and mentor Safety Coordinators and Safety Specialists assigned to multiple project sites.
- • Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) for electrical and datacenter work.
- • Conduct regular site audits, OSHA-compliance checks, inspections, and follow up on corrective actions.
- • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis; document findings and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
- • Coordinate and deliver toolbox talks, site safety meetings, and training for field crews and subcontractors.
- • Serve as the primary safety liaison between field personnel, project management, and corporate safety leadership.
What we're looking for
- • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction site safety with leadership responsibility on electrical projects; datacenter experience preferred.
- • Proven ability to develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and maintain project safety documentation.
- • Strong verbal and written communication — able to coach crews, write clear reports, and present findings to management.
- • Experience conducting OSHA-focused audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
- • Practical problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills in a fast-paced field environment.
- • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between job sites; open to relocation for the right candidate.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety (OSHA 30)
- • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)
- • CPR and First Aid certification
- • Valid U.S. driver’s license
- • High school diploma or GED; additional safety-related certificates or degree a plus
- • Spanish language skills a plus
What we offer
- • Relocation assistance available for candidates willing to move into the region.
- • Company-paid PPE and safety equipment provided for field work.
- • Paid time off and paid holidays.
- • Paid training and certification support (maintain required credentials on company time).
- • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match and basic medical/dental/vision options.
