Safety Superintendent — Electrical Construction (Nationwide)
About this role
Lead safety efforts across multiple electrical construction sites as the senior field safety authority. You’ll supervise and mentor Safety Coordinators and Specialists, run regular audits and OSHA checks, and make sure site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) are in place and followed. This is a hands-on, field-first role that requires travel to job sites nationwide. You’ll partner with project managers and field crews to remove hazards, lead incident investigations and training, and drive measurable improvements in jobsite safety.
What you'll do
- • Supervise, mentor and schedule Safety Coordinators and Safety Specialists assigned to project sites.
- • Serve as primary safety liaison between field crews, project management, and corporate safety leadership.
- • Develop, implement and maintain site-specific safety plans (SSSPs) and ensure crews follow them.
- • Conduct regular site audits, inspections and OSHA-compliance checks; document findings and track corrective actions.
- • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; produce reports and implement corrective/preventive measures.
- • Run toolbox talks, safety meetings, training sessions and monitor leading/lagging safety indicators across projects.
What we're looking for
- • 5+ years safety experience in electrical or heavy construction with supervisory responsibility.
- • Proven ability to lead and mentor field safety staff and enforce site safety procedures.
- • Strong verbal and written communication — able to write SSSPs, incident reports and corrective action plans.
- • Hands-on experience with OSHA standards, site audits, inspections and recordkeeping.
- • Skilled in incident investigation and root cause analysis with follow-through on corrective actions.
- • Willingness to travel nationwide to job sites and hold a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- • OSHA 30-Hour Construction (required)
- • First Aid/CPR and incident investigation training (preferred: formal root-cause training)
- • Safety certifications preferred: CSP, CHST, ASP or equivalent
- • Experience writing and maintaining Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs)
- • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel nationwide; passport a plus
- • Fire service or military safety experience a strong plus
What we offer
- • Market-competitive pay (based on experience) and overtime opportunities.
- • Medical, dental and vision insurance options.
- • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
- • Paid time off and paid holidays.
- • Per diem or travel reimbursement for overnight assignments.
- • Safety gear, PPE provided and paid training/certification support.
