Solar Installer / Technician

Talco, TX

About This Role

Join a utility-scale solar crew in Talco, TX installing mechanical racking and PV modules on a large project site. You’ll work outdoors using hand and power tools to assemble torque tubes, set drive motors, install dampeners and linkage, and mount solar modules while meeting daily production targets. This is physical, hands-on work in all weather conditions. Candidates should be dependable, able to follow safety procedures, perform inventory and equipment checks, and help keep the jobsite clean and operational. Prior solar experience is a plus but not required — we train motivated, hardworking people.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble and align torque tubes, clamps, drive motors, dampeners, linkage, and solar modules
  • Tighten bolts to specified torque and complete equipment and installation checklists
  • Receive, stock, and track materials; maintain accurate inventory and support QC
  • Maintain a clean, safe jobsite; perform general cleanup and return tools at shift end
  • Follow safety procedures, report equipment issues, and work to daily production goals

What We're Looking For

  • Use hand and power tools to install mechanical assemblies and set drive components
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly; squat, crawl, and stand for long periods
  • Read basic drawings/layouts, measure and cut as needed, and follow torque specs
  • Work reliably in varied weather conditions and meet attendance expectations
  • Follow safety policies and complete equipment checklists; report hazards promptly

Qualifications

  • Age 18+ and proof of identity/work authorization
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Valid driver’s license preferred; reliable transportation to site
  • OSHA 10 (preferred) and CPR/First Aid (preferred)
  • English required; Spanish helpful
