Solar Installer / Technician

Talco, TX $19-$28/hr

About this role

Join a utility-scale solar crew in Talco, TX assembling and installing solar equipment on-site. You’ll work outside in varying weather using hand and power tools to align torque tubes, set drive motors, install modules, and meet daily production targets while following site safety procedures. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role. You’ll stock and track materials, complete equipment and quality checklists, maintain tools, and help keep the job site clean and organized. Prior solar experience helps but motivated candidates with construction or mechanical assembly experience are encouraged to apply.

What you'll do

  • Install and align torque tubes, clamps, drive motors, dampeners, linkage, and solar modules
  • Torque bolts to specified values and complete equipment checklists before use
  • Receive, stock, and track materials; support quality control for assigned scope
  • Maintain a clean job site, perform general cleanup, and return tools at end of shift
  • Follow site safety procedures, report equipment issues, and attend site safety briefings
  • Work to daily production goals in a team environment and perform other duties assigned by site leadership

What we're looking for

  • Prior construction, mechanical assembly, or solar installation experience preferred but not required
  • Proficient with hand and power tools, fitting mechanical assemblies, and using torque equipment
  • Able to perform physically demanding work: lift and move up to 50 lbs, squat, crawl, and stand for extended periods
  • Able to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation) and in confined or awkward positions
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, site layout, and measurement specifications
  • Dependable attendance, able to work in a production environment with daily targets and follow safety procedures

Qualifications

  • Age 18 or older
  • Proof of identity and employment authorization required
  • English sufficient to follow written and verbal safety instructions and read basic drawings
  • Ability to meet site access and safety orientation requirements
