Solar Installer / Technician
About This Role
Work on a utility-scale solar project in Paragonah, near Cedar City, UT. As a Solar Installer you'll assemble racking, set torque tubes and drive motors, install modules, and complete quality checks to meet daily production goals. This is hands-on outdoor work in varying weather. Pay is $19–$22/hr plus a $50/day per diem. The role requires safe, consistent performance, basic tool skills, and the ability to lift and move materials on a production-paced job site.
What You'll Do
- • Bolt and assemble racking, torque tubes, drive motors, dampeners, and linkage to specified requirements
- • Hoist, align, set and install solar modules; tighten bolts to proper torque specifications
- • Set drive motors and install linkage between motors; perform mechanical assembly tasks
- • Receive, stock and track materials and inventory for the work area
- • Complete equipment checklists, perform quality control checks, and report equipment issues before they cause damage
- • Maintain tools, keep the job site clean, and meet daily production goals under site leadership
What We're Looking For
- • Comfortable lifting, pushing and pulling materials up to 50 lbs regularly
- • Experience using hand and power tools for mechanical assembly (prior solar experience preferred but not required)
- • Able to stand, walk, squat, crawl and work in awkward positions and confined spaces for extended periods
- • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, precipitation)
- • Reliable attendance and ability to work in a production environment with daily targets
- • Basic ability to read measurements, follow torque specs, and complete checklists accurately
Qualifications
- • Age 18+
- • Proof of identity and employment authorization (I-9 documents)
- • Prior solar construction experience preferred but not required
- • Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back; good visual acuity and depth perception
- • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to follow site safety policies and supervisor direction
