Solar Installer / Technician

Cedar City, UT $23-$27/hr

About this role

Work on a utility-scale solar installation near Paragonah, UT (based out of Cedar City). As a Solar Installer / Technician you will assemble racking and torque tubes, set drive motors, install modules, and complete daily checklists to keep the crew on schedule. This is physical, outdoor work in varying weather. You’ll use hand and power tools, handle materials, maintain tools and site cleanliness, and perform quality control to meet daily production goals while following site safety procedures.

What you'll do

  • Bolt and assemble racking, torque tubes, drive motors, dampeners, and linkage to specified alignment
  • Hoist, align, set, and secure solar modules and torque tubes; tighten bolts to specified torque
  • Install drive motors, dampeners, and linkage between motors as directed by layout
  • Receive, stock, and track materials and maintain accurate inventory in the field
  • Complete equipment checklists and quality control inspections; report issues to supervisor
  • Maintain tools, perform general site cleanup, and keep work areas safe and organized

What we're looking for

  • Prior construction or solar installation experience preferred but not required
  • Comfort using common hand and power tools for mechanical assembly and fastening
  • Able to lift, push, and pull material up to 50 lbs and work in awkward positions
  • Capable of standing and walking long periods and working in heat, cold, and precipitation
  • Follow safety policies and site procedures; work to meet daily production targets
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work on a production-focused crew

Qualifications

  • Age 18 or older
  • Proof of identity and employment authorization required
  • Ability to read and follow written torque specs, checklists, and safety instructions
  • Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, with normal visual acuity
  • Willingness to complete site-specific training and follow equipment inspection procedures
