Superintendent — Reinforcing Ironwork (Orlando, FL)
About This Role
Lead a crew installing rebar and reinforcing steel across commercial and heavy-civil jobs in the Orlando area. You’ll run daily operations on site, coordinate crews and materials, enforce quality and safety, and make decisions that keep projects on schedule. We build a team that works hard, looks out for each other, and gets the job done right. You’ll be expected to take initiative, train and mentor crew members, and keep close communication with superintendents, foremen, and contractors. Pay range is $21–$40/hr depending on experience and certifications.
What You'll Do
- • Supervise and coordinate reinforcing steel crews, foremen, and subcontractors on site
- • Read and interpret rebar schedules, blueprints, shop drawings, and field markups
- • Plan daily work assignments, manage material deliveries, and track crew productivity
- • Ensure correct placement, tying, welding, and splice work meets quality standards
- • Enforce jobsite safety, inspect rigging and lifting operations, and report incidents
- • Document progress, maintain timecards, and communicate status to project management
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 4+ years in reinforcing ironwork with crew leadership or foreman experience
- • Strong hands-on skills with rebar placement, tying, stud welding and concrete reinforcing
- • Proven welding experience (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW) and familiarity with aluminum welding
- • Rigging, forklift operation, oxyfuel/plasma/air carbon arc cutting experience
- • Able to read drawings, use layout tools, and train/mentor crew members
Qualifications
- • NCCER certification or journeyman-level experience preferred
- • Welding certifications (SMAW/GMAW/FCAW/GTAW) and/or certification in stud welding
- • Forklift and rigging certification, OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 strongly preferred
- • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- • English required; Spanish helpful
