Reinforcing Ironworker (Rodbuster)

Join a crew placing and installing reinforcing steel on commercial and infrastructure concrete projects across Florida. You’ll work on-site in Orlando and surrounding areas, read plans, set layout, tie rebar, perform stud welding and operate cutting/welding equipment. The team provides tools, time, and resources to help you succeed — you must bring a strong work ethic and the initiative to get the job done. This role expects people who are hard working, take responsibility to each other, and care about doing quality work. What you'll do

  • Read plans and set layout for reinforcing steel; place and secure rebar per drawings and specifications
  • Tie rebar, install chairs/spacers, and prepare assemblies for concrete pours
  • Operate stud welding and perform various welding/cutting tasks (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, stud welding, plasma/oxyfuel/air carbon arc)
  • Perform rigging and forklift tasks to move material safely on site
  • Maintain tools and equipment, follow site safety procedures, and keep clean, organized work areas
  • Mentor apprentices and coordinate with foremen and other trades to meet pour schedules

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience with concrete reinforcing and rebar installation (2+ years preferred)
  • Proven ability with stud welding, general ironwork, and multiple welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW)
  • Skilled in cutting methods (oxyfuel, plasma arc, air carbon arc) and safe rigging practices
  • Forklift operation experience and comfort operating site equipment
  • Able to read basic plans/marks, follow instructions, and work full days on outdoor job sites in Florida

Qualifications

  • NCCER certification or Journeyman ironworker card preferred
  • Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent) for SMAW/GMAW/FCAW/GTAW preferred
  • Forklift certification and rigging credentials a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites in Florida
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check; Spanish language skills are a plus
