Class A CDL Truck Driver
About This Role
We are hiring an experienced Class A CDL truck driver in Richmond, VA. This role pays $28–$31 per hour and focuses on hauling heavy equipment and asphalt, safely operating dump trucks, and securing loads for transport. You’ll work on construction and paving jobs, handling loading/unloading, chaining down equipment, and following DOT and company safety standards. This role is for a dependable driver with at least 5 years of experience hauling equipment and asphalt who wants steady work and clear expectations.
What You'll Do
- • Operate Class A CDL trucks (dump, flatbed, water/tack) safely and efficiently on local and regional routes
- • Load, unload, chain down, and secure heavy equipment and materials for transport
- • Haul asphalt in dump trucks, monitor load conditions, and follow proper offload procedures
- • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects and complete required logs
- • Follow DOT regulations and on-site safety procedures; coordinate with crew and supervisors
- • Assist with basic equipment maintenance, fueling, and cleanliness of assigned vehicles
What We're Looking For
- • Minimum 5 years’ experience hauling heavy equipment and asphalt
- • Valid Class A CDL with experience operating dump and flatbed trucks
- • Proven ability to load/unload and chain down equipment securely
- • Experience operating water trucks, tack trucks, transfer and milling machines (or willing to train)
- • Familiarity with hazardous material hauling procedures and safe handling
- • Forklift operation experience or willingness to be certified
Qualifications
- • Class A CDL (required)
- • DOT Medical Certificate / valid medical card (required)
- • Clean driving record with no recent major violations
- • Minimum 5 years hauling experience (equipment and asphalt)
- • HazMat endorsement, forklift certification, or other endorsements preferred
- • Ability to read and understand basic English for safety and log requirements
